The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A  joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweeps your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

~ Rumi

Life is very wise.  Yes, everyday a new arrival… The universe is orchestrated in such a way that it will send a catalyst to aid us in our evolution if that is what we need at the time.  Our thoughts and emotions are constantly flowing and changing. Our physical bodies are also in continuous change. Let’s practice acceptance.  To accept that life has many facets.  Life is not stagnant but flowing.  And in the flow,  we meet up with many different pieces and shades of ourselves and others.  So to welcome and embrace all of  it. We are so lucky to be alive and having a human experience.  Sometimes we connect with the energy of joy and sometimes the pain arises. To remember during the darker times that the light eventually will shine again. All is passing.  We can learn and grow from every person and every experience… And be grateful for whatever comes.

Love, Tara
